Jo Hatton

Jo Hatton

STRETCH THERAPIST

STRETCH THERAPIST AND STRETCH CLASS INSTRUCTOR

Jo recently re-joined the team at Central Coast Body Mechanics instructing several of our group stretch classes each week.

Jo has a background in stretch therapy and massage, was trained in Stretch Therapy by Kit Laughlin and mentored by Tim Barrett.

Jo’s keen interest in Stretch Therapy began 20 years ago when she attended Tim’s stretch classes as a participant. At the time, Jo was experiencing chronic pain, immobility and musculo-skeletal problems due to a serious motor vehicle accident. Initially Jo was confined to a wheelchair with various rods and pins in leg, and learning to walk again.

It was when she had plateaued in her recovery that she discovered Tim’s classes. “After attending my first stretch class, I felt excited about the possibilities,” Jo says. “I consistently attended sessions, seeing and feeling the positive progression that was happening in me physically, emotionally and socially.”

Jo then became interested in helping others like her. After training as a massage therapist, she undertook training in Canberra with Stretch Therapy founder, Kit Laughlin and was mentored by Tim to become a teacher of stretch classes at Central Coast Body Mechanics in the early 2000s.

After a few years travelling the world and Australia, Jo has been warmly welcomed back to Central Coast Body Mechanics as a Stretch Class instructor and is now also offering individual stretch therapy sessions.
