Stretch Therapy

Stretching is arguably the most underrated physical therapy available for anyone suffering from pain and dysfunction. Effective stretching techniques can bring immediate relief from many types of muscular tightness and pain.

At Central Coast Body Mechanics, we draw from the principles of Stretch Therapy, a comprehensive therapeutic system that includes stretching, fascial remodelling, strengthening, neural re-patterning, and relaxation.

We also incorporate wisdom and techniques from yoga and martial arts.

We offer therapeutic stretching in three different contexts: as part of our bodywork therapy, in our classes and also in one-on-one tuition.

In our bodywork treatments, stretching is used in conjunction with massage and acupuncture with Tim and as a purely Stretching experience with Jo. In some cases, we teach our clients ‘take-home’ stretches to assist with healing. This allows clients to build on the treatment done at the clinic and gives them the tools to manage their condition more effectively.

Our stretch classes are run on a nine-week basis in conjunction with school terms. In these classes, we teach the safest and most effective ways to increase flexibility and relieve muscular tightness and pain.

Our Stretch Therapy instructors, Tim Barrett and Jo Hatton are also available for individuals or group setting such as conferences, workshops, sporting groups and school settings.

Stretching can assist with a wide range of symptoms and conditions such as:

  • Neck and shoulder pain/tightness

Benefits of stretching:
